When conferences announce the following season’s schedule it is their way to let us know that college basketball still exists. Many are still fawning over other league’s drafts, playoffs and what not, completely ignoring the wonderful world of college hoops. With the schedule releases, however, it is a nice reminder to us that the season is really not too far away.
The Virginia Cavaliers have gotten a hold of their 2013-14 ACC schedule and has released it to the public. Since it is nice to look in a crystal ball and see the future, here is a look at all their home and home, away only, as well as home only games.
As for the Cavaliers home and home slate they are slated to play the Florida State Seminoles, Maryland Terrapins, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Virginia Tech Hokies.
For their home only games they will battle the Boston College Eagles, Miami Hurricanes, North Carolina Tar Heels, Syracuse Orange and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
And finally, for their away only games Virginia will look to crush the souls of the Clemson Tigers, Duke Blue Devils, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, North Carolina State Wolfpack and Pittsburgh Panthers.
After taking a small glimpse into Virginia’s future, what pops out at you? Do you think their schedule is unfair or is the split between the series of games just right? Well, guess what? It does not matter what you think because there is almost no way to know how good any of these teams are going to be next year without knowing who is going to be on them.
I kid, take a chill-pill.
