It is good to be young, athletic and have plenty of options. Fortunately for Riley Norris, he is all of those things, and has no shortage of options to decide on as far as where to take his basketball talents.
Norris is a top-50 small forward from the state of Alabama. While it is widely expected that he plans on going to an in-state school, it has not stopped a bunch of other programs from hurling scholarship offers towards his general direction.
The three-star prospect seems to be the apple of the Butler Bulldogs‘ eye now as well. Butler has become the umpteenth team to offer a scholarship towards the player despite the Bulldogs obviously not being an in-state team. This marks the fifth small-forward that Butler has targeted as a potential future player.
Being that he is a member of the 2014 recruiting class, Norris has plenty of time to weigh his offers. Considering that Norris’ potential is huge — he is listed as 6-foot-7, but just 185-pounds — it is no wonder teams are in a hurry to take a flyer out on a kid whose current body build resembles Gumby more than it does a college basketball forward.
As of this moment, however, the Alabama Crimson Tide seem to be the front-runners to land his services. Regardless, Brad Stevens must be hungry for some small forwards, as he has been offering every scholarship at his disposal for a three.
