Saint Louis a Finalist in the Running for Former Indiana Player Remy Abell

Remy Abell left the Indiana Hoosiers program for a variety of different reasons, none more so than playing time and a new start. His announcement about his transfer was a little over three weeks ago, and now it seems like the transfer process is really starting to pick up steam.

Abell told the Indy Star that he has narrowed his potential landing spots to three schools. All three of them, mind you, are spots where he would likely start as soon as he was eligible. The Saint Louis Billikens, Saint Mary’s Gaels and Xavier Musketeers are the final three schools in the running for Abell’s services.

The Indy Star also pointed out that only Xavier recruited Abell out of high school, which might help the Musketeers’ chances in landing the former top-tier prospect.

While with Indiana, Abell had a hard time getting on the court. This past season saw him only garner 12 minutes of action per game, although that had less to do with his abilities and more to do with the ridiculous amount of talent ahead of him. With Tom Crean bringing in another slew of highly-regarded prospects, Abell thought getting out of dodge before more minutes were taken from him.

He will have to sit out one year because of the transfer. After that though, Abell will have two years of eligibility left and will vastly improve whichever program he ultimately decides to join. Abell has also stated he would like to make a decision within the next week.
