Jermaine Lawrence Highlights Cincinnati Bearcats’ 2013 Recruiting Class

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Bearcats will be losing some talent for the 2013-14 college basketball season, which means the door is open for some freshmen to step up on this team. Who knows if that will actually be the case, but Jermaine Lawrence could very well be one of those players. With that said, Lawrence highlights the Bearcats’ 2013 recruiting class.

Lawrence is a 4-star and he is also rated 35th overall, according to ESPN. Joining him will be three 3-stars and one 2-star. Although Lawrence is the most likely player to make an impact on Cincinnati next season, who knows if that will actually happen. Cincinnati recruited these five players for a reason.

Although some great players will no longer be on the team, at least leading scorer Sean Kilpatrick will be back. It would be nice if Lawrence could help team up with him to lead this team to another NCAA tournament, but once again, who really knows this early in the offseason.

Still, Cincinnati has some talented players coming in and its future is looking good. If Cincy can make the dance once again, hopefully it can get further than it did this past season. The Bearcats lost to the Creighton Bluejays in their very first game of the tourney.

This team started red hot this past season, with 12 straight victories, but the Big East Conference proved to be tough on it, with Cincinnati finishing with a 9-9 record in the conference.

Whether the case, next year will be a whole new season and it will be interesting to see which freshmen impact the Bearcats the most.
