The Oklahoma State Cowboys will enter the 2013-14 college basketball season as one of the best teams in the nation. As a result, you would think that they would play a tough team in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, but that will not be the case, unless if you think the South Carolina Gamecocks are a tough team.
The Cowboys should enter the season in the top 10, since they have three players returning that averaged 14 or more points per game this past season. Not to mention, one of those players is Marcus Smart, who could have went in the top 10 of the 2013 NBA Draft if he would have declared.

Who knows how either conference will fair next season, but Oklahoma State is predicted to be just a little bit better than the Gamecocks. You know, since Oklahoma State won 24 games on the year and South Carolina won four whole games in the SEC this past season.
No offense to Frank Martin or South Carolina, but the Cowboys should be playing a team like Florida or Kentucky. At the very least, they should have been matched up against Ole Miss or Tennessee, although they did beat the Volunteers by 17 last season and Tennessee won’t even be in the challenge. Not sure who sets up the games for this challenge, but whoever did blew this matchup. If it was the schools themselves, so be it.
Still, there will be plenty of great matchups in this challenge and really either conference could win. However, unless if a major upset happens or if South Carolina turns out to be a huge surprise team, Oklahoma State has this game in the bag.
