Former Indiana Hoosiers Guard Maurice Creek Has Decided to Transfer to George Washington

Back in April, word emerged that Indiana Hoosiers guard Maurice Creek would transfer elsewhere for his final season of eligibility. Well, a decision has reportedly been made and Creek is off the board and heading to George Washington.

According to a report from CSN Washington, Creek has made his decision to join the Colonials’ program and head coach Mike Lonergan for one final season. Creek will be eligible to play immediately next season as a graduate student, so this is certainly a nice addition for Lonergan and George Washington.

Creek burst onto the scene in Bloomington as a freshman, averaging 16.4 points per game. However, injuries have simply devastated an up and coming basketball career since, and even when healthy, Creek eventually struggled in an Indiana lineup that found itself becoming more and more talented over the past few years.

Creek’s decision to transfer didn’t come as all that bit of a shock and considering his switch to George Washington, it will be interesting to see just what type of numbers he can put up in his final season at the collegiate level. Creek should very well have the opportunity, as an experienced player to start in the Colonials’ back court.

His decision to head to George Washington however, shouldn’t come as all that much of a shock. Creek is an original native of Oxon Hills, Maryland, so he will be returning closer to home with this decision.
