Cincinnati Bearcats Should Win the 2013 Global Sports Shootout

The Cincinnati Bearcats will be losing some talent for the 2013-14 college basketball season, but they will still have a team that competes. With that said, the Bearcats should win the Global Sports Shootout.

The other teams that will take the court in this tournament will be North Carolina State, Campbell, Appalachian State and N.C. Central.

The only team that looks like it would be able to challenge Cincinnati is North Carolina State, but not so fast. The Wolfpack are losing plenty of talent–you know, their starting five–and will not be as good as they were this past season. Sure, some talent will be left on this team, but Cincinnati is just too good not to win this tournament.

It really helps that Sean Kilpatrick returned to the team, who lead the Bearcats with 17 points per game this past season.

This tourney is clearly not the most exciting in college hoops on paper, but basketball is basketball, especially when it is college basketball.

It would be great if every team could compete in this one, but that will likely not be the case. Call me crazy, but Campbell and N.C. Central aren’t exactly powerhouse teams in college basketball. Of course, now that I said that, an upset will probably happen.

The season may be months away, but Cincinnati is looking pretty good when it comes to winning the Global Sports Shootout. An NCAA tournament bid may also be on the horizon. However, the Bearcats will have to come to play because big upsets can kill a resume, no matter how good a team was on the season.
