What can DePaul Blue Demons fans look forward to in the 2013-14 college basketball season? Well, they will likely not be able to look forward to a national championship or winning the Big East, but there still are some things.
DePaul is coming off of a horrible season where it finished with a 11-21 record overall and a Big East record of 2-16. You better believe that was the worst record in the conference.
With that said, the top two leading scorers will be back in Brandon Young and Cleveland Melvin. Both players averaged more than 16 points per game this past season and that should be the case in the 2013-14 season. In fact, these two players could be the best scoring duo in the Big East.
So at least DePaul fans have that to look forward to. The Blue Demons are not going to take the conference by storm, but they could be better. A decent recruiting class coming in could help with that, but more than anything, the returning players will have one more year of experience under their belts.
DePaul has a lot to do before it can even think about competing in college hoops, but hopefully some questions are answered in the upcoming season.
Still, it will be great seeing Young and Melvin score at a high rate on a nightly basis against some of the best teams in college basketball. This team does play in the Big East and all, so it will play some great teams all season long.
