The Villanova Wildcats will have some talent returning for the 2013-14 college basketball season, which includes Darrun Hilliard.
Hilliard averaged 11.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game last season. He also shot 40.3 percent from the field and 31.5 percent from behind the arc. Those numbers aren’t amazing, but Hilliard is still a very good returning player regardless.
He was the third leading scorer on Villanova last season, but was not too far behind the two players in front of him. JayVaughn Pinkston led the team in that department with 13.3 points per game. Leading the team in scoring in the upcoming season is not out of the question for Hilliard, but Pinkston will likely pull off that feat once again.
The Wildcats managed to make the dance last season as No. 9 seed. They had an overall record of 20-14 and a Big East record of 10-8. However, all of those should get better in the 2013-14 season.
Villanova is bringing back enough talent to compete for a conference title, which was not exactly the case last year since the team did finish tied for seventh in the standings. However, it did pull off some big upsets during the year.
This is a very intriguing team and people should not sleep on it whatsoever.
Hilliard should have another good year, but he could increase his numbers, which would help the team out when it comes to wins and losses. The guard must improve his shot though.
Whether the case, the Wildcats are on the rise once again and it is a great time to be a Villanova fan.
