The La Salle Explorers will be losing their best player in Ramon Galloway. He was also the best guard on the team. Still, the Explorers will have a lethal scoring duo in the 2013-14 college basketball season.
That is where Tyrone Garland and Tyreek Duren come in.
Garland averaged 13.1 points per game last season and Duren averaged 14.2 points per game. Galloway led the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game. With him leaving, Duren and Garland should get more attempts, which will lead to more points for the two.
Duren shot 45.5 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from behind the arc last season. Garland shot 42.4 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from behind the arc.
Both already put up great numbers last year, but they will have to be that much better, which should not be a problem. Both will be playing in their senior years, so I am sure they want to go out with a bang. Winning the Atlantic 10 Conference and making the NCAA tournament would likely be a good enough bang. However, I am sure every player in college hoops wants to win a national title.
La Salle will have some competition, though. VCU could have its best team yet and Saint Louis will be returning a bunch of talent. The Explorers will still compete for a conference title.
Garland and Duren have the ability to score even more in the 2013-14 season. No matter how much they score, they should be a lethal scoring duo all season long.
