The Marquette Golden Eagles didn’t have their best season in school history last year — finished 17-15 overall. To make matters worse, head coach Buzz Williams bolted at season’s end. Well, here’s some good news for Marquette fans:

Henry Ellenson is the No. 4-ranked prospect in the 2015 class (via ESPN.com). Teams like Michigan State and Kentucky were other possible destinations for Ellenson.
Ellenson will be joining three four-stars (via ESPN.com). As you can see, the Golden Eagles are putting together quite the recruiting class for 2015.
After losing head coach Buzz Williams, I am sure many fans were a bit pessimistic about the team’s future, but landing a recruit as talented as Ellenson should have turned that around.
Who knows how the team will do in the 2014-15 college basketball season, but Marquette is certainly headed in the right direction. Landing a top-five recruit always helps. If Ellenson turns out to be as good as his talent would suggest, who knows, maybe the team will be competing for a conference title in 2015-16. That remains to be seen, though.
