Predicting the Final Score of Kansas vs. Kentucky

Kentucky Basketball

Basketball fans are being spoiled with this year’s Champions Classic. Kansas vs. Kentucky is the type of matchup that we all dream about, and it will take place in basically the first week of the 2014-15 college basketball season.

The Jayhawks lost a good amount of talent, like Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid, both top three selections in last summer’s draft, but the team remains one of the most talented teams in the country. That is because players like Perry Ellis and Wayne Selden Jr. returned. Not to mention, Bill Self brought in a great recruiting class once again. No surprises there.

As for the Wildcats, they lost Julius Randle and James Young to the NBA, but so much talent returned from last season’s team. You know, the same team that made the championship game. As usual, John Calipari recruited like a boss.

So, both teams feature talent, talent and more talent.

You really cannot go wrong with either team, but I am predicting Kentucky to win this game. Not only is it the No. 1 team in the land, but it actually has experience, which never seems to happen on a Calipari-coached team.

Self and Calipari going at it will certainly be must-watch TV, but the Wildcats are not going to be denied in this one. Hopefully this game lives up to its hype because it could very well be the best game of the season if it does. What would really be cool is if Aaron Harrison hit yet another buzzer-beater (that was his thing in the 2014 NCAA tournament). Well, for Wildcats fans, that is.

Prediction: Kansas 72, Kentucky 75
