After being ranked for some time this season, the Oklahoma State Cowboys sit at 14-7 with nine games left on the schedule. The Cowboys need a miracle to make it to the 2015 NCAA tournament, but will get an opportunity to take one step closer when they travel to Frank Erwin Center to face the Texas Longhorns on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 8 p.m. ET on the Longhorn Network.
Texas sits at 14-7 as well, with a legitimate chance to make it to the 2015 NCAA tournament. However, with the same inconsistency problems that face the Cowboys, the Longhorns must start winning, quickly.
Both of these teams are extremely talented on the defensive end, but struggle at times offensively. Look for this game to be won and lost on the offensive glass, as both teams will be desperate for some type of consistent scoring.
The Longhorns are the more talented team, but the Cowboys have proven that they can get the job done against them already this season, winning 69-58. However, Oklahoma State has lost all of their away games in conference play this season and won’t be able to beat a talented team like Texas away from home.
Oklahoma State will need a huge game from Anthony Hickey Jr. to pull off the upset, while hoping that the Longhorns still lack confidence from their current three-game skid. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, it looks like Texas should bounce back with a win over Oklahoma State and take one step closer to the 2015 NCAA tournament.
