Matchup: Dayton Flyers (21-6) vs. VCU Rams (21-7)
The Atlantic 10 standings are jam-packed at the top. Four teams are currently tied for fourth place, and two of those teams are Dayton and VCU. Therefore, a lot will be on the line in this game.
These two teams have yet to play each other this season, so we are in for quite the treat. For the record, the Rams and Flyers both have a great shot at making the NCAA tournament this year.
What to Watch For
Jordan Sibert is the leading man for Dayton. He is averaging 16.4 points per game. However, two other players are averaging 12 or more per game.
VCU has Treveon Graham. You should know the name by now, but if you don’t, just know that he is averaging 16.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
Prediction
This one really could go either way. After all, both teams have had successful seasons up to this point, which is why both teams should be part of the field of 68.
The Rams lucked out by getting this contest at home, but they are also without Briante Weber due to a season-ending injury.
Who knows who will end up winning this conference, but this game will definitely help decide that. Regardless, a win in this one will surely bode well with the tournament committee.
We are going with Shaka Smart‘s squad at home, though. Expect Graham to come up big and for the Rams to shake off the loss against the Richmond Spiders.
