The Northern Iowa Panthers may be the higher seed, but they will play a very tough opponent in their first game of the 2015 NCAA tournament. That opponent will be the Wyoming Cowboys.

Wyoming needed to win the MW tournament to make the dance. Although the Cowboys had to have that automatic bid to get in, they are very capable of winning a game or two in this tournament. After all, the Cowboys do have Larry Nance Jr.

Nance Jr. is averaging 16.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

What to Watch For

Even if the Cowboys don’t win this game, Nance Jr. is definitely a player to watch out for. Another must-watch player in this game is Seth Tuttle, who is leading the Panthers in scoring at 15.3 points per game. He is also leading the team in boards (6.8 RPG) and assists (3.3 APG). Yeah, he is the total package.

Prediction

Northern Iowa was one of the best teams in the country this year. It is currently ranked in the top 10, won the MVC tournament and also took out the Iowa Hawkeyes and Wichita State Shockers.

Wyoming is playing great basketball right now. After all, it not only won the MW tournament title, but it also beat the Boise State Broncos and San Diego State Aztecs (back-to-back games) in the process.

Nance Jr. can lead his team to victory on his own, but these Panthers have the talent to be this year’s Wichita State. Translation: UNI has the talent to make a run to the Final Four.

Northern Iowa 66, Wyoming 62
