The No. 1 seeded Duke Blue Devils dominated their first opponents in the 2015 NCAA Tournament, the Robert Morris Colonials, as expected. However, they face an interesting matchup in the round of 32, the No. 8 seeded San Diego State Aztecs, who entered the season expecting to be one of the better teams in the country.

What to Watch For

Jahlil Okafor is the star in this matchup, but the real key will be whether or not the Aztecs can score the basketball. Sure, their second-ranked defense is impressive, but the team struggles so much from the field that it hinders them sometimes. Duke will have to be on their A-game offensively, or they could be upset.

This will be one of the best round of 32 matchups in the country, despite likely being low scoring.

Prediction

I want to call the upset; I really do. I love the way SDSU plays basketball. Defense wins championships, and Duke has struggled against the defensive minded teams that they’ve faced this season. The Aztecs started off the season by losing multiple games that they should have won, but finally have everything going for them.

After the way the Blue Devils fell out of the tournament last year, however, I think they’ll pull this one out. Okafor will dominate on the inside, and the Blue Devils will show just enough quality to edge out SDSU by a bucket or two near the end.

If Duke can make it past the Aztecs, I don’t see them losing until the Final Four, if at all.
