The Florida Gators have been a top team in college basketball ever since Billy Donovan became the head coach (let’s just forget this past season happened). No matter how deep of a run the Gators are coming off of in the NCAA tournament, Donovan is always linked to head coaching jobs in the pros. Heck, even this year, which shouldn’t come as a surprise, Donovan’s name is being linked to the NBA once again.

That is probably the last thing Florida fans wanted to hear. Still, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Donovan seems to always flirt with the NBA once the season is over, so why would this year be any different?
Of course, this happened earlier in the day:

Other than winning the most games in college hoops, which may not be possible, Donovan has basically achieved everything there is to achieve at the college level. The guy did coach two Florida squads to back-to-back titles, after all. Plus, Donovan recruits like a champ every single year, his teams are ranked in the top 10 annually and he has turned this program into one of the top programs in America.
Donovan becoming a head coach in the NBA is not going to be an easy sight to see, but it is bound to happen sooner rather than later. And I think the time for him to make the jump is right now.
