Big East Basketball: Pre-Summer 2015 Power Rankings

D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera — The Big East will open up even more in the 2015-16 season, as several highly touted players remained in school and several elite recruits went to some of last season's bottom teams. It's far too early to know for sure which teams are going to be the upper echelon of the conference, but it's slowly starting to shape up. Here are the Pre-Summer 2015 power rankings for the Big East.

No. 5 Xavier Musketeers

Xavier Basketball Coach — Xavier loses their do-it-all post presence in Matt Stainbrook, but the rest of the roster remains mostly intact. Xavier probably won’t win the Big East next season, but they’re set up to make the tournament and do some damage.

Henry ellenson — With some big-name recruits coming in next season and a relatively young roster, the Golden Eagles are going to make a splash in arguably the most all-around difficult conference in the country.

No. 2 Georgetown Hoyas

Georgetown basketball fans — A legitimate sleeper to win the national championship, the Hoyas are extremely talented and boast one of the deepest teams in the Big East. Oh, don’t forget about D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, either.

Jay Wright — Jay Wright and the Wildcats fell out of the 2015 NCAA Tournament in disappointing fashion, but will come into next season with a strong roster once again.
