The 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis begins with a marquee matchup between two teams situated just over 300 miles apart facing off thousands of miles away from their respective campuses. Both undefeated to begin the season, the Washington Huskies and Gonzaga Bulldogs are two teams with vastly different styles of play, making this a must-watch game for any college basketball fan.
The Huskies began the season with a resume boosting win over the Texas Longhorns and have since dominated their opponents by a combined score of 204-137, putting up at least 100 points in each game. Remember, Washington was picked to finish No. 11 in the Pac-12 in the preseason media poll, so a win over No. 10 nationally-ranked Gonzaga would be absolutely massive when it comes to momentum moving forward.
Gonzaga, on the other hand, has looked just as dominant, winning their first two games of the season by a combined score of 192-108. Domantas Sabonis, who is currently averaging a 20 and 10 double-double, has been absolutely brilliant, and we have yet to see a breakout game for Kyle Wiltjer, who is one of the best players in all of college basketball. The Bulldogs have not looked like one of the best teams in the country just yet, but they could make a statement by stomping on the upstart Huskies.
Washington’s Andrew Andrews should score his usual allotment of somewhere around 20 points, but the veteran duo of Sabonis and Wiltjer will dominate the inside of this Huskies team, leading to a Gonzaga victory.
Prediction: Gonzaga 82, Washington 75
