The Iowa State Cyclones overcame a 20-point deficit to stun the Iowa Hawkeyes 83-82 in a rivalry game on Thursday night. It was an extremely impressive win and I’m sure exhilarating for the Cyclones fans in attendance, but there’s no excuse for what happened to Des Moines Register reporter Randy Peterson.

While I understand the excitement behind watching your team snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, this is inexcusable and it must stop. The NCAA needs to put a ban on all court storming ASAP before someone else suffers the same fate as Peterson. He will now have to undergo surgery and miss weeks of work because of some careless fans not understanding how to control their emotions.
If you’re listening Mark Emmert, you need to do something about this now. If that means arresting every person that storms the court, so be it. There needs to be a plan installed to prevent this from happening again.
