It is still early in the conference portion of the 2015-16 season, but the Oklahoma Sooners might have just caught a huge break with the West Virginia Mountaineers upsetting the Kansas Jayhawks. Kansas, who gave the Sooners their lone loss on the season, now have one conference loss on the year, meaning that the Sooners basically control their own destiny from here on out in the Big 12.

Next up for Oklahoma and their quest to win the Big 12 regular season title are the Oklahoma State Cowboys, who have kept games close this season but have lost their last two games by double digits.

The Cowboys boast a fairly solid defense, but struggle at the offensive end. Heading into this game, five players are averaging at least nine points per game. Unfortunately, no one on the team averages more than 12 and all but the previous mentioned five average below five points per game. Playing in the most difficult all-around conference in college basketball, Oklahoma State is in for a rough season if they cannot hit their offensive stride soon.

Oklahoma should roll over Oklahoma State pretty easily. Not only do the Sooners boast arguably the best player in the country, Buddy Hield, but their offense is ranked No. 3 in the country in terms of points per game and should be able to overcome the Cowboys’ stout defense. Watch for Ryan Spangler to have a big rebounding game from the inside, as Oklahoma State will have to chuck threes during the second half in order to keep up.

Prediction: Oklahoma 78, Oklahoma State 62
