With talent flooding the ACC, the madness never ends in this conference. In this matchup, we have the Florida State Seminoles, a team battling for a spot in the NCAA tournament (don’t worry, it is still early), taking on the Louisville Cardinals, who are doing what they usually do — winning basketball games and being ranked in the top 25.
Florida State will do battle with a 12-5 record and Louisville enters with a 14-3 record. The good thing for the Seminoles is the fact that they are riding a two-game winning streak, and they just captured their biggest win of the year. The victory against the Virginia Cavaliers should go a long way for FSU, and a victory against Louisville would push this team into the dance — well, if the season ended today, that is.
The Cardinals are coming off a pretty solid victory as well, which came against the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Things have been pretty crazy in the ACC in 2015-16 (and in college basketball in general). Here’s the proof: The Duke Blue Devils and Virginia are both 3-3 in conference play. Both teams were expected to compete for a national championship.
Louisville brings a pretty solid offense (80.5 PPG) and stingy defense to the table (allowing just 57.8 PPG). Meanwhile, the Seminoles have two lethal scorers, who just so happen to be freshmen. Malik Beasley and Dwayne Bacon are both averaging around 17 points per game.
The Cardinals are the favorites coming in. There is no denying that one. But there is also no denying this: No team is safe in college hoops this season. As a result, let’s go with upset city.
PREDICTION: Seminoles 72, Cardinals 66
