Don’t look now, but the Duke Blue Devils are back to being the Duke Blue Devils (aka they are destroying, in a sense, everyone in their path).
The Blue Devils have now won five games in a row. In their last three, they knave knocked off teams ranked in the top 15. Heck, in their last two contests, they have knocked off teams ranked in the top 10.
Next up, the red-hot Blue Devils will take the court against the Louisville Cardinals.
The Cardinals finally bounced back after dropping two straight. They bring a 20-6 overall record and 9-4 ACC record with them. Meanwhile, Duke sits at — drumroll, please — 20-6 overall and 9-4 in the ACC.
Duke will likely fly up the rankings as a result of knocking off the North Carolina Tar Heels on the road, and its tournament seed will likely increase in the process. However, if the Blue Devils can somehow manage to knock off a fourth straight ranked opponent in a row, they are going to skyrocket up the rankings and that tourney seed is also going to be looking very fancy.
That said, Duke has these two things going against it: (1) The Cardinals get this clash at home. (2) Louisville is only allowing 60.7 points per game.
That just means Grayson Allen and Brandon Ingram are going to have to step up on the big stage (once again). If those two studs drop 20 points each in this contest, the Blue Devils probably aren’t losing. Who knows if that game plan will work once March Madness rolls around.
PREDICTION: Blue Devils 74, Cardinals 67
