The North Carolina Tar Heels have been shaky as of late. With the ACC and NCAA tournaments just around the corner, that probably doesn’t bode too well with the fans. However, the Tar Heels bounced back with a big win against the Miami Hurricanes a game after going down to the Duke Blue Devils at home. North Carolina’s next victim will be the NC State Wolfpack.
NC State is not making the tournament. That is a huge bummer for Anthony Barber, who just so happens to be one of the best scorers in the country (averaging 23.1 points per game). Of course, when all hope is lost, a team can always win its conference tournament … but that isn’t going to happen for the Wolfpack.
The ACC is filled with plenty of teams that could go on to win the NCAA tourney this season. North Carolina is one of them. However, if Roy Williams‘ team plans on earning a No. 1 seed in the dance, this squad will have to take care of business down the stretch. And down the stretch, the Tar Heels still have to take on the Virginia Cavaliers, Syracuse Orange and Duke. Of course, the ACC tourney comes after that, which should be quite the show for fans everywhere.
Not getting too far ahead of ourselves, North Carolina should have no problem winning this game on the road. If it does go down, it can probably kiss that No. 1 seed goodbye … unless if it wins out from there.
PREDICTION: Tar Heels 82, Wolfpack 75
