Utah State Coach Blake Anderson Placed On Leave

Blake Anderson who is the head coach of Utah State football team has been put on administrative leave and is not likely to coach the team again. Nate Dreiling, the defensive coordinator who only joined the staff in January, will serve as acting head coach.

Anderson, 55 was about to start his fourth year when they open their 2024 season against Robert Morris on August 31st. He took over the reins of Utah State program from Gary Andersen in 2021 after a seven-year stint at Arkansas State.

During his initial term with Utah State University, Anderson led the Aggies to a remarkable record of 11-3 thereby clinching Mountain West championships and defeating Oregon State during Los Angeles bowl. 

He had an extensive coaching background before becoming head coach. While at Baylor University and Sam Houston State University, he played quarterback and wide receiver respectively, while serving as the offensive coordinator for North Carolina. He has also been an assistant coach at different schools.
