The BYU Cougars have been one of the best teams in the WCC this season, but the team has some work to do if they want to go dancing in March.
Two of the top three teams in the WCC face off on Thursday night. Who comes out on top between BYU and St. Mary's? Find out here.
The two best teams in the WCC face off on Saturday afternoon as the Gonzaga Bulldogs travel to take on the BYU Cougars. Find out more, here.
I wouldn’t want to be the team that draws the Oregon Ducks first in the 2014 NCAA tournament. Unfortunately, someone had to dram them and that someone is the BYU Cougars.
Before losing to UCLA in the Pac-12 tournament, Oregon was on an eight-game win streak. During that span the Ducks beat teams like the Bruins and Arizona. With that in mind, before losing in the WCC tournament, the Cougars were on six-game win streak and one of those wins was against Gonzaga.
So, I guess you could say both teams have been pretty hot as of late. Well, despite both teams losing their last game.
What to Watch For
Tyler Haws is a scoring machine. He is averaging 23.4 points per game. Good luck covering him, Oregon.
Joseph Young will be another player to watch out for. He may not be averaging 20+ points per game, but he has still managed to average 18.6 points per game against very tough competition.
Both teams put up big numbers in the scoring department and this very well could be the highest scoring game in the round of 64. Hopefully.
Oregon is averaging 81.8 points per game and BYU is putting up 84.2 points per game. The NCAA tournament committee did a great job on this matchup.
Prediction
Both teams have been playing pretty good basketball as of late, but Oregon has my heart. Not really, I am just predicting the Ducks to win. Mike Moser is the x-factor in this one. He may not lead the nation in scoring, but he sure has made the Ducks a competitive team this year.
Oregon 89 BYU 80
