Every week we bring you the Official Rant Sports College Football Top 25 Rankings based on the selections of each of our writers. There was some serious movement in our poll yesterday based on the crazy upsets– some of which were more predictable than others– and great performances from teams that appear to be hitting their stride.
Here’s the Official Rant Sports College Football Top 25 Rankings for Week 3 of the 2012 season:

Snap observations from the poll:
* The USC Trojans took a serious nosedive from No. 2 to No. 12 in the poll after a 21-14 loss to the Stanford Cardinal, which, surprisingly enough, has been the norm in this series over the past few years.
* Stanford stormed up our poll from No. 23 to No. 13 on the heels of this victory.
* The Notre Dame Fighting Irish moved up 6 spots to No. 14 from No. 2o after their 20-3 whipping of the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing. The Spartans tumbled ten spots to No. 21 in our poll from No. 11 due to this loss.
* Several first-time entrants who have been on the verge in the poll’s first two iterations made their way in for Week 3. The UCLA Bruins, Arizona Wildcats, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Boise State Broncos are all teams our writers have their eyes on going into Week 4.
