The Doc is in. Another week of college football means another round of top 25 rankings. Below is the Doc’s submission into the Rant Sports College Football poll. No change at the top with the Alabama Crimson Tide. I refuse to panic about a close LSU Tigers win at Auburn.
I really like the Oregon Ducks but their offense struggled for the first half against the Arizona Wildcats. I see that offense having problems for four quarters against my top three, especially with a freshman QB. As for the rest, there remains a lot of football left to sort them out.
1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Florida State
4. Oregon
5. Florida
6. Georgia
7. Kansas State
8. South Carolina
9. West Virginia
10. Stanford
11. Texas
12. USC
13. Notre Dame
14. Ohio State
15. TCU
16. Oklahoma
17. Clemson
18. Arizona
19. Mississippi State
20. Oregon State
21. Baylor
22. Michigan State
23. UCLA
24. Nebraska
25. Louisville
Trending up: Quite a few teams are moving upward. As mentioned above I give a slight edge to the Florida State Seminoles for defeating a Clemson Tigers team, than I give to Oregon for beating Arizona. The Kansas State Wildcats win in Norman propelled them into my top ten.
Continually moving up my rankings are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish who defeated Michigan, benefiting from six turnovers and a missed field goal, yet only won by a touchdown. Making their first appearance in my top 25 are the Oregon State Beavers who look awfully good thus far after a win in Pasadena Saturday.
The Baylor Bears are also in the club for the first time at 3-0.
Trending Down: Oklahoma falls out of the top ten with the loss at home to KSU. Louisville moves down to 25 after a near miss against the Florida International Panthers.
Dropping Out: No longer in my top 25 are the Oklahoma State Cowboys who were on a bye week. There will be plenty of opportunity for OSU to get back into the rankings. After a dismal offensive performance in a win over BYU, the Boise State Broncos have finally dropped out of my top 25.
What to watch for in week five: A top ten Georgia Bulldogs squad hosts Tennessee and the West Virginia Mountaineers meet up with Baylor in their first Big 12 battle.
The Ohio State Buckeyes make a trip to East Lansing. Oregon State travels to the desert as they look to go 3-0 with a win against Arizona.
