College Football Upset Alert: 10 Teams Who Should Be Worried in Week 3
When it comes to football and excitement, the college football season beats the NFL every time. In the NFL, there are always a group of elite teams and then everyone else fighting for a potential Wild Card spot. In college football, huge upsets can happen every week.
In week 2, some of the biggest upsets included the Miami Hurricanes over the Florida Gators, the Georgia Bulldogs over the South Carolina Gamecocks, the BYU Cougars over the Texas Longhorns, the Washington State Cougars over the USC Trojans and the Michigan Wolverines over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Those are all upsets just in the top 25.
Upsets aren’t as uncommon as they used to be in the NCAA. So, don’t worry; there are going to be upsets during week 3 of college football. There is too much league wide talent in college football. Players slip through the cracks and end up away from the big name universities making upsets become more frequent.
Unfortunately, the one upset everyone is hoping for is the one upset I really don’t think is going to happen. The Alabama Crimson Tide are not going to lose to the Texas A&M Aggies.
If you watched the Aggies’ game against the Rice Owls, you realized that they don’t have any defense. A.J. McCarron and T.J. Yeldon are going to have a field day. It wouldn’t matter if Johnny Manziel put up 500 yards by himself – that defense can’t stop Alabama.
Here are 10 college football games that could be upsets this weekend – there are some good ones.

10. Tennessee Volunteers Over No. 2 Oregon Ducks
Okay, sounds crazy, right? In all honesty, I don’t believe Tennessee will win this game, but I do notice that the Volunteers match up with Oregon’s strengths and weaknesses perfectly. This could be the closest game any team has to Oregon until they go to the National Championship. I’m thinking a 24 – 17 win for Oregon that Tennessee leads at the half. That close of a game should be considered an upset for Oregon.
1. Vanderbilt Commodores Over No. 13 South Carolina Gamecocks
Vanderbilt lost a heartbreaking game to the Ole Miss Rebels, but over the past few seasons have come extremely close to beating the South Carolina Gamecocks. Expect this game to be a one possession showdown with the Commodores coming out on top – probably due to a Jordan Matthews catch.
