The stories of these two teams couldn’t be more different in 2014. Texas A&M is making headlines with new QB Kenny Hill. The Aggies started the season surprising the country by blowing out South Carolina. They have since blown out Lamar and Rice by a combined score of 111-13. Texas A&M finds itself in the discussion for the college football playoff at the end of the season.
SMU has a much different and much more depressing story. Playing in their third game of the season, the Mustangs have been blown out by Baylor and the University of North Texas.
Yes, the North Texas Mean Green beat SMU 43-6.
To put it nicely, SMU will have a tough time this Saturday against the high-powered offense of Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies. To put it honestly, SMU is about to get smacked up and down the field for 60 minutes. The Aggies have everything working, and SMU has nothing working.
SMU’s problems just got bigger, too. Head coach June Jones just retired, leaving SMU in a deeper hole than they found themselves in before. Things are bad in Dallas for the Mustangs. While they may have a chance to hire a big name coach, that does little for them this weekend.
Predicting the final score of this game is a tough task only because it’s hard to predict when coach Sumlin will call off the dogs and stop running up the score. The Aggies beat Lamar 73-3. Don’t expect this game to be much different. Texas A&M will score early and often.
Prediction: Texas A&M 77-3
