The Mississippi State Bulldogs keep on winning. Maybe now, the nation will take notice.

The Bulldogs pounded the Texas A&M Aggies 48-31 on Saturday in Starkville in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score would indicate. After falling behind 7-0, MSU stormed back to lead 28-10 at the half, and it got worse after the break. The Bulldogs led 48-17 before the Aggies scored two touchdowns in the last three minutes.

MSU was impressive on defense, although the final numbers might indicate otherwise. The Bulldogs were able to contain the powerful A&M offense and standout quarterback Kenny Hill, who threw for 365 yards and four touchdowns, but also had three big interceptions.

Mississippi State showed in this game that it has an outstanding quarterback of its own in Dak Prescott. On Saturday, Prescott was 19-of-25 through the air for 259 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for 77 yards and three scores.

The Bulldogs had the advantage of being the featured early game on Saturday, so much of the nation likely saw just how good Dan Mullen’s team is. It was certainly an impressive win over a Texas A&M team that had looked unstoppable at times this season.

Mississippi State now owns the nation’s second-longest FBS winning streak, having won eight games in a row. And, for the first time in school history, the Bulldogs have beaten teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 10 in consecutive games (MSU beat the LSU Tigers two weeks ago).

Things don’t get easier for the Bulldogs, as the Auburn Tigers visit Starkville next weekend. And maybe after Saturday’s statement win, the nation will realize just how good this Mississippi State team is.
