There are not many things that could save Florida Gators head coach Will Muschamp‘s job. However, knocking off the Georgia Bulldogs in Week 10 would certainly go a long ways.
Florida is just 3-3 on the season, but there really are no surprises there. The team, for once, did not enter the season by being ranked in the top 25, and not many people expected them to compete in the SEC East this year.
Handing the ball over to Georgia, it entered the season with plenty of hype, and was predicted by many to win the SEC East. As it stands, the Bulldogs have a great shot at claiming the East, and playing for a spot in the SEC title game. There is still plenty of work that needs to be done, though.
Although the Gators aren’t the toughest opponent left on the Bulldogs’ schedule, the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party knows no rankings or records — either team has a chance to win this rivalry game on any given year.
With that said, Florida has struggled to score this season (averaging 28.7 points per game), while Georgia has managed to average 43.4 PPG. The Gators are allowing 25.5 points per game, while the Bulldogs are giving up 20 PPG.
Needless to say, Florida probably won’t figure out its offense any time soon, and Georgia can score at will. It doesn’t matter if Todd Gurley is in the lineup or not.
Although I would like to say that the Gators will find their offense in this one, they just aren’t showing any signs of hope (lost 42-13 vs. Missouri last game). If the defense can step up in a big way, this game could be interesting, but the Bulldogs are currently one of the best teams in the country.
Prediction: Florida 20, Georgia 35
