Coming into today’s showdown with the USC Trojans, Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday led the nation in passing yards and was quietly working his way onto NFL radars. However, his football future was abruptly put on hold.
After completing a pass across the middle, Halliday had a defender roll up on his legs and apparently suffered a serious leg injury. After the play was over, Halliday was seen screaming in agony on the field before eventually being carted off with an air cast on the leg.
It’s a tough break for a promising young quarterback who was turning out to be a legitimate NFL talent. Now he’ll likely to have to spend much of the next year rehabbing his leg.
Here’s to hoping the diagnosis doesn’t reflect how severe the injury looked.
