The Kansas State Wildcats and TCU Horned Frogs will have plenty at stake when they take the field against one another this weekend.
Both teams have one loss. One more loss could doom either team for the Big 12 title (K-State has yet to lose in the conference, though). Even more devastating, one more loss could mean missing out on the College Football Playoff.
Sure, both teams have some big games left, but as of right now, this is the big one. That is especially true for TCU. Why you ask? Well, they do not play another ranked opponent after this contest. K-State still has a tough path as it is scheduled to take on West Virginia and Baylor.
Regardless, I like the Horned Frogs’ chances of winning this game and going on to play in the College Football Playoff. TCU is putting up 48 points per game, has QB Trevone Boykin and will be playing at home for this Big 12 showdown.
The Wildcats’ offense isn’t as lethal, but they still manage to average 38.3 PPG. Not to mention, QB Jake Waters can beat teams with his arm and legs.
Regardless, the Horned Frogs’ offense is too good and the team truly does get a huge boost by playing at home.
TCU will go on to win this game. As a result, it could go on to represent the Big 12 in the College Football Playoff. Stay tuned for that one. It should be must-watch TV regardless, if both teams bring their A games.
Prediction: Kansas State 30, TCU 45
