Just when you thought you’d heard it all about Florida State QB Jameis Winston, a rumor like this emerges.
According to TMZ, Winston was possibly involved in point-shaving to help his friend Chris Rabb (of UAB) win a $5,000 bet. Winston allegedly played poorly on purpose in the first half of FSU’s game against Louisville.
UAB is currently looking into the allegation, and there is no official confirmation of wrong-doing at this time.
Even though Winston has done some incredibly stupid things during his college career, this would be a new level. It’s really hard to see him bending over backwards for a friend to help him make $5,000, especially given all the trouble he’s experienced while at FSU.
More to come as details emerge, but hopefully, there’s no truth to this rumor. We really, really hope Famous Jameis isn’t that dumb.
