5 Bold Predictions For TCU vs. Kansas
Kevin Jairjah-USA TODAY Sports
Another Big 12 rivalry is about to unfold this weekend as quarterback Trevone Boykin and the No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs travel to the north to do battle with the Kansas Jayhawks. Just because the Frogs are 8-1 and the Jayhawks are struggling at 3-6, don’t expect them to just rollover. Here are five bold predictions for the Big 12 matchup.
5. QB Trevone Boykin Will Punish the Kansas Defense

TCU’s dual-threat QB Trevone Boykin is going to pose some serious problems for the Kansas defense. Last week he repeatedly hurt the Kansas State defense, which is among the toughest defensive units in the Big 12. Imagine what Boykin is capable of against a defense that recently gave up 60 points last week against Baylor.
4. QB Michael Cummings Keeps Getting Better

Kansas QB Michael Cummings’ play and confidence have been steadily improving ever since he was assigned as starting quarterback. He has thrown for over 200 yards consecutively in the last four weeks.

After the Horned Frogs RB B.J. Catalon was injured last week against Kansas State, RB Aaron Green stepped in and did an exceptional job running the ball. He ran for 171 yards and a TD. Whether Catalon is fully recovered or not, expect to see Green more active in the backfield.
2. TCU WR Deante’ Gray Will Score 2 Touchdowns

The junior wide receiver Deante’ Gray will be seeking more opportunities downfield against the weaker Jayhawks defense. Blown assignments should give him a chance to get into the end zone at least twice, similar to his performance during the 82-27 Texas Tech blowout.
1. TCU Coach Gary Patterson Will Continue to Push

Coach Gary Patterson doesn't impress easily. Even when the Horned Frogs annihilated Texas Tech 82-27, his first words were, “I don’t think we played well all game.” Patterson is going to continue to push the team for greatness, while quietly hoping in the back of his mind that Baylor slips up somewhere.
