The Heisman Trophy is the most coveted single player award in all of college football and includes former NFL greats such as Barry Sanders, Bo Jackson, Tim Brown, Tony Dorsett and Marcus Allen. While there is no guarantee that this year's candidates will become all-time greats down the road, they still possess the potential for similar success. Let's take a look at who the top five Heisman Trophy candidates are heading into Week 14.

With current stats of 3,125 passing yards, 19 TDs and 13 INTs, the defending Heisman Trophy winner from last year is having somewhat of a down season. However, regardless of his 2014-15 numbers, Winston has led the Florida State Seminoles to an 11-0 record so far and continues to produce unbelievable fourth-quarter performances. He's not the runaway favorite that he was last year, but he's still a top five Heisman candidate.

Trevone Boykin has performed extremely well this season and currently has 3,021 passing yards, 24 TDs and only five INTs. Additionally, he has rushed for 548 yards and seven additional TDs on the ground. With a 9-1 record, he has led the TCU Horned Frogs to a current ranking of sixth in the country. TCU was off this Saturday, but Boykin will be looking to carry them to a 10-1 record on Thanksgiving Day against the Texas Longhorns.

Also known as the best WR in the country, Amari Cooper had three catches for 46 yards in the first quarter against Western Carolina until he suffered a knee bruise. Due to the matchup being a trivial one, Cooper was pulled out of the game even though he was able to return if needed. Through Week 13, his total numbers are 90 catches for 1,349 receiving yards and 11 TDs. He will look to increase those numbers against Auburn this Saturday.

It's a shame that Gordon only got to enjoy his record-setting 408-yard game for only one week, as Oklahoma's true freshman RB Samaje Perine broke Gordon's record by rushing for 427 yards this past Saturday. However, this didn't affect Gordon much as he ran for 200 yards and two TDs against Iowa to give him 2,109 yards and 25 TDs for the season. He became the fastest player to eclipse the 2,000-yard barrier in college football history.

Marcus Mariota owns the college football world right now. This past Saturday, in a 44-10 blowout of Colorado, Mariota passed for 323 yards and three TDs and also rushed for 73 yards and an additional TD. This has him at a 3,103-passing-yard total, 32 TDs and only two INTs on the season. Additionally, he has 597 rushing yards with nine ground TDs and has Oregon poised for a national championship run. He is the current favorite to win the Heisman.
