The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Georgia Bulldogs both enter this game with 9-2 records. Both are also ranked and are looking to finish the season off on a good note, which would result in a solid bowl once bowl season takes place.
It is the Yellow Jackets who are guaranteed a spot in their conference championship, though. They will take on the Florida State Seminoles on Dec. 6. Georgia still has a shot at making the SEC title game, but it needs the Missouri Tigers to go down. You know, the same Missouri Tigers team that lost to the Bulldogs by the score of 34-0 earlier in the year. Yeah, sometimes life isn’t fair.
Both of these teams have been on quite the roll and still could make a New Year’s Six bowl, but who knows if both will.
The Bulldogs enter this one on a three-game winning streak, which includes a victory over the Auburn Tigers. The Yellow Jackets enter on a four-game winning streak.
No matter who comes away with the victory, I am sure we will see a bunch of rushing yards. After all, Georgia is ranked No. 13 in rushing yards per game, while Georgia Tech is ranked No. 4 in that same category. Unfortunately, we will not get to see Todd Gurley running wild in this one, but Nick Chubb has done a fantastic job of filling in for him.
In the end, the Bulldogs’ defense will come up big, and Chubb will do his thing on the ground. Still, this could be one of the more underrated games entering the weekend, that could turn out to be the game of the, well, weekend.
Prediction: Georgia Tech 21, Georgia 28
