Not many teams can lose a tough home game against a lesser-ranked opponent earlier in the season and still have a shot at a national title, but that just shows how good the Oregon Ducks really are. However, their in-state rival, the Oregon State Beavers, are looking to ruin the Ducks’ season with a huge upset win at home that would send them to a bowl game.

Marcus Mariota might be a lock to take home the Heisman Trophy this season as he has been more impressive than any quarterback in the country, passing for 3,103 yards, 32 touchdowns and just two interceptions while completing 68 percent of his passes; he has also rushed for 597 yards and nine scores on the ground. Mariota trails only Royce Freeman in the run game as the freshman running back has 1,050 yards and 16 rushing scores this season. Byron Marshall has been the most dynamic player on offense for the Ducks, however, as he has rushed for 318 yards and a touchdown while catching a team-high 50 passes for 660 yards and four scores. Devon Allen is second in receiving, catching 34 passes for 613 yards and six touchdowns.

Oregon State has a very solid passing offense, ranking 25th in the nation, to go along with a lethargic run game, ranking 114th nationally, in terms of yards per game. The Beavers are led by veteran quarterback Sean Mannion who isn’t having quite the season he had a year ago, but is still playing well, passing for 3,002 yards, 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Mannion’s favorite target has been sophomore Victor Bolden who leads the team with 68 catches for 785 yards and two touchdowns followed by freshman Jordan Villamin‘s 572 yards and six touchdowns on 34 catches. Seven more receivers have accounted for over 100 yards as well. Terron Ward and Storm Woods lead the run game, accounting for 696 yards with 10 touchdowns and 638 yards and four touchdowns, respectively.

Defensively, the Beavers have been highly ineffective this season. In fact, Oregon State ranks just 91st in points allowed and 65th in total yards allowed per game. Oregon hasn’t been any better, ranking just 93rd in total yards allowed, giving up about 435 per contest. The Ducks have had a much better scoring defense, ranking 42nd.

Oregon will travel to Oregon State to take on the Beavers at 8 p.m. EST on Saturday, Nov. 29. The game will be broadcasted on ABC.

PREDICTION: Oregon 44, Oregon State 27
