The No. 11 Kansas State Wildcats and No. 14 UCLA Bruins face off in the 2015 Alamo Bowl. Both teams have high-powered offenses, but fell short in their respective conferences this season, with three losses each. Here are five bold predictions that you need to know before the Jan. 2 bowl game.

The Bruins' defense will get the better of the battle of the Alamo and fend off the Wildcat's attack on offense. Even though UCLA gives up and average of 27.5 points per game, (mostly against pass effective Pac-12 offenses), don't expect that to be the case against a major non-conference foe. Kansas State will be held below the Bruins' average and kept in check for the majority of the game.

The NFL scouts will be watching UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley, in what is likely his last game in a Bruins' uniform. He will rise to the occasion and shine against Kansas State's pass defense, which gives up an average of 236.8 yards per game. Expect the future pro prospect to have a monster game through the air. Hundley will also be effective on his feet as a dual-threat option in the game and could rip off some lengthy runs down the field.

The duo of quarterback Jake Waters and receiver Tyler Lockett for Kansas State is one of the best in the nation against poor pass defenses. UCLA is ranked 86th, giving up an average of 243 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks. For the Wildcats' offense to break down UCLA early, the tandem of Water to Lockett must be effective often.

The Wildcats have done an outstanding job taking care of the ball this season and rank 2nd in turnovers. This will continue in Texas for Kansas State and gives them a great opportunity to establish a win. The missing piece is scoring against the Bruins' defense while playing mistake free. If the Wildcats can do this, the chances become much greater for a victory,

There has to come a point where the years start catching up with Kansas State's head coach Bill Snyder. The 75-year-old legendary coach could consider retirement, if the Wildcats go out on top in the Alamo Bowl. It wouldn't be a huge win, but would give Snyder a high point to cap off his 52-year coaching career. The Alamo was the last stand for another coaching legend last year, when former Texas coach Mack Brown called it a career.
