Penn State went down in flames just a few years back. It has since gotten back on the map in a big way. Heck, the team was even allowed to partake in a bowl game this past season, which it managed to win.
Paterno was not only the face of Penn State football when he was the head coach, he was one of the faces of the sport as well. Although these wins aren’t going to bring the late Paterno back or completely restore the Nittany Lions’ image, they are a step in the right direction for this team, and Paterno’s legacy.
Needless to say, this has been a solid year for Penn State.
