The No. 8 Florida State Seminoles (2-0) take their talents on the road to Boston College in a Friday night showdown between two ACC Atlantic programs.
Florida State entered the season ranked in the top 10, and looks to capture its fourth straight ACC Championship. Throughout the first two games of the season, running back Dalvin Cook has been Florida State’s go-to weapon. Everett Golson looked sharp in the season-opener against Texas State, but couldn’t find his rhythm in week two, completing just 53 percent of his passes, and getting sacked multiple times.
While Boston College didn’t have high expectations coming into the 2015 season, the Eagles have easily walked over early FCS opponents, scoring an unprecedented 41 points in the first quarter this past Saturday against Howard. Any time you put up 41 points in a single quarter, it’s impressive regardless of who the opponent is.
Boston College will have the crowd advantage and confidence to stay in this game; however, Florida State simply has better athletes than Boston College, and having played only FCS schools thus far, Boston College is not used to the caliber of athlete at a powerhouse like Florida State. Look for the crowd to keep BC initially, but with Everett Golson and Dalvin Cook running the offense, the Seminoles will eventually pull away in the second half.
Prediction: Florida State 34, Boston College 24
