In the Big 12 conference opener for both teams, the Oklahoma Sooners will play host to the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday. Both teams come in with identical 3-0 records and this game will help determine which of these teams could be able to pose a threat to TCU and Baylor for the Big 12 championship. Sanchez is one of the best corners in college football, but he got torched by the Mountaineers last season; Clint Trickett threw for 376 yards against the Sooners, and Kevin White had 10 catches for 173 yards, mostly against Sanchez. Look for Sanchez to get his revenge on Saturday against Skyler Howard.

The Mountaineers are averaging 220 yards rushing per game this season, and Smallwood accounts for 110 of those yards per game. While Rushel Shell had a solid game against Maryland last week, West Virginia is going to need to utilize Smallwood's big-play potential if the team is going to upset Oklahoma.

Mayfield has gone from walk-on to starter to the bench, and is now one of the best quarterbacks in college football. The perseverance and resiliency that he has shown has been amazing, and he gets it done without having the most talent. Against the Mountaineers, look for Mayfield to exploit the middle of the field in the West Virginia 3-3-5 defensive scheme.

West Virginia needed a receiver to step up with the departures of Kevin White and Mario Alford to the NFL, and Gibson has been that guy. He's caught 12 passes for 329 yards and four touchdowns through three games this season despite having yet to have played a full four quarters.

While West Virginia's defense has only allowed 23 points through the team's first 3 games of the season, the Mountaineers have faced Georgia Southern, Liberty and Maryland. The Sooners' offense will be a whole different animal for the defense to face, and I look for this to be a high-scoring game.
