TV Schedule: Friday, Jan. 1, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN3/ESPN
Stadium: Mercedes-Benz Superdome
Line: Ole Miss (-7.5)
The Sugar Bowl, as usual, will host two of the best teams in the country this season. Said teams are the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Ole Miss Rebels.
Of course, not making the College Football Playoff is likely a bit of a disappointment for both squads, but the Sugar Bowl is not a bad consolation prize — wouldn’t you agree?
The Cowboys rock a 10-2 record entering bowl season while the Rebels stand at 9-3. Of course, both teams are ranked in the top 25.

Oklahoma State is not entering this clash with much momentum. After all, it won the first 10 games of 2015, but dropped the last two games of the regular season. Those losses came against the Baylor Bears and Oklahoma Sooners (aka two of the best teams in this sport).
The exact opposite thing can be said about the Rebels — well, when we are talking about momentum, that is — as they have won their last two games against ranked foes.
If all goes according to plan, scoring should be the name of the game. The Cowboys are averaging 41.2 points per game, which is good enough for ninth-best in the country. The Rebels are putting up 40.4 PPG, which is good enough for No. 14 in college football.
Given the fact that Oklahoma State has been so lethal on the offensive side of the ball, it is a bit of a surprise that it did not have a Heisman contender on the year. Meanwhile, Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly was in and out of the talks throughout the season.
Nonetheless, we are in for quite a treat this bowl season.
PREDICTION: Cowboys 35, Rebels 45
