TV Schedule: Thursday, Dec. 31, 3:00 p.m. ET, ESPN3/ESPN
Stadium: Sun Life Stadium
Line: Oklahoma (-4)
The Oklahoma Sooners and Clemson Tigers will battle it out in the College Football Playoff. The winner, of course, will take on the winner of the other playoff contest between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Michigan State Spartans. Needless to say, this is what bowl season is all about.
Oddly enough, the line is not in Clemson’s favor … and they are the No. 1-ranked team in the country. They are also undefeated. Oklahoma, on the other hand, is a one-loss squad and is ranked No. 4.
READ: 15 Bold Predictions For Bowl Season
As expected, the storylines are flooding for this showdown. It is the playoff we are talking about, after all. On top of everything that is on the line, here is one more thing fans can look forward to: Deshaun Watson vs. Baker Mayfield. Although a bit bold, this could be the best QB battle of the season thanks to those two. I mean, Watson was a Heisman finalist, and Mayfield appeared to just miss the cut for that one.
With the spotlight all over the quarterbacks, watch running backs Wayne Gallman and Samaje Perine steal the show now.
Clemson’s most notable wins on the season: Notre Dame, Florida State, North Carolina.
Oklahoma’s most notable wins on the season: Tennessee, Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma State.
In terms of who comes out on top, it is any one’s game. Just remember, records, Heisman dreams, stats and everything else goes out the window once bowl season is among us.
The play on the field is going to be epic, but now there is one thing we must do — play the waiting game until Dec. 31.
PREDICTION: Sooners 42, Tigers 38
