The Arkansas State Red Wolves and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will battle it out in this year’s New Orleans Bowl.

Arkansas State enters bowl season with a 9-3 record while Louisiana State brings an 8-4 record with it. However, it is the Red Wolves who are riding an eight-game winning streak. Just for the record, they have not lost a game since the end of September. Meanwhile, Louisiana Tech brings a one-game losing streak with it.

Neither team is shy when it comes to putting up points on the board. The Bulldogs are averaging 36.8 points per game and the Red Wolves are putting up 41 PPG. Therefore, if we are lucky, both offenses will come ready to play which will result in a shootout.

Schedule time.

Arkansas State has been tested against teams like the USC Trojans and Missouri Tigers. Unfortunately, it came up short in both contests.

Louisiana Tech took on notable squads like the Kansas State Wildcats (lost in OT) and Mississippi State Bulldogs (lost by 25).

Some players to keep an eye on: Arkansas State’s Fredi Knighten and Michael Gordon, and Louisiana Tech’s Jeff Driskel and Kenneth Dixon.

If the name Driskel sounds familiar, that’s because it probably is — he used to be the quarterback for the Florida Gators. Dixon — in case fans are not aware — is a touchdown machine (he has 17 rushing TDs this season alone).

Although this game is a toss-up, like most bowl games, it is hard to go against a team that has won eight games in a row.
