The Clemson Tigers are the lone remaining undefeated team in college football, but they remain 6.5-point underdogs against Alabama in tonight’s College Football National Championship Game. There are many reasons why Vegas heavily favors Alabama, and I’ll provide you with five of them as to why Clemson will lose tonight.

Clemson is certainly stout along the offensive and defensive lines, but Alabama is the best in the country by a wide margin at both areas. The entire Crimson Tide defensive line could very well end up being first-round picks in the 2016 NFL Draft, and Ryan Kelly and Cam Robinson are beasts on the offensive line.
4. Deon Cain

Cain was suspended prior to the College Football Playoff semifinal game against Oklahoma for a reported positive drug test. Without the freshman, the Tigers don't have a true deep threat that can blow the top off of the Crimson Tide defense.
3. Shaq Lawson

The Tigers' best pass rusher plans to suit up tonight, but it doesn't sound like he'll be 100 percent. If Lawson can't get the some power and explosiveness with the sprained MCL in his knee, the Tigers have no chance of winning on Monday night.

A lot of experts like to talk about how the Tide have struggled stopping running quarterbacks in the past, but this year's defensive unit features much more athleticism than in years past. Kirby Smart's crew was able to slow Dak Prescott, Joshua Dobbs and Treon Harris with no problem.

Nick Saban has led Alabama to three national championships since he arrived in Tuscaloosa. He also led most of this same team to the College Football Playoff just last season, and he knows what it takes to have his guys ready for these big games. The last time Clemson won the national championship was 1981, so this whole experience is new for the Tigers.
