Tom Brady should be able to pick apart the Chiefs secondary. Cornerback Brandon Flowers is listed as questionable and Eric Berry is on injured reserve. Flowers and Berry are arguably the Chiefs 2 stud players on the secondary. Without them, Tom Brady is capable of having a field day. Gronkowski and Hernandez should both have field days against the Chiefs.
Key #1 New England Patriots Pass Blocking VS Kansas City Chiefs Pass Rushing The Patriots pass blocking has looked lights out in some games like early in the year and the Jets game last week. Other weeks the Patriots pass blocking is getting schooled by the likes of pass rushing factories like the Pittsburgh Steelers or the New York Giants.
Tamba Hali is capable of getting to Brady if he gets by Matt Light. New England has to use their interior lineman to contain the Chiefs 3-4 defensive lineman. Brady has a quick release and readss his progressions in about a 0.6ths of a second.
The Chiefs do not have the secondary to make Brady stall so the Chiefs have to rely on the pass rushing unit. It really comes down to Brady’s pass blockers.
Key #2 Running Game Brady will be able to pick apart the Chiefs defense. A nice running game would let Brady save some extra reps.
Key #3 Avoid Turnovers Teams like Green Bay, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, and New England can remain in contests if they avoid turnovers. Tampa Bay has committed too many turnovers in 2011 which is why their not considered in the elite tier with these 3 teams.
New England Patriots Offense VS Kansas City Chiefs Defense Summary
Tom Brady’s tight ends are going to have a monster night too. Welker could make some plays too with Brandon Flowers out. Expect New England to have a field day if Brady’s offensive line gives him necessary time. Kansas City needs to pressure Brady and get turnovers to give the offense a fighting shot.
