Five Reasons Why Jacob Josefson Needs to Drink More Milk
Is there anybody in the NHL that’s had worse luck than New Jersey Devils center Jacob Josefson? Just when it looked like he was ready to take the next step as an everyday player, he gets hurt….again.
In Wednesday nights 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders, the 21-year-old left with an undisclosed injury mid-way through the second period. As it turns out, Josefson fractured his wrist and will miss 4-6 weeks. Ouch.
It’s the second time this season and the third time in two seasons, that he’s been forced out of the line-up due to a serious injury.
Josefson has been hurt so much that I thought it might be fitting to remind the kid that a NHL career on the IR list will not get you into the Hall of Fame. Here are the top 5 reasons Josefson should invest in a cow and drink way more milk.
- In the last two seasons Josefson has torn a ligament in his thumb, broken a clavicle and now a fractured wrist. Forget the milk how about wearing a bubble?
- At 21-years-old your medical bills shouldn’t be higher than your grandparents.
- The Devils don’t pay him $900,000 a year to watch them play. He played a total of 41 games with a total nine points this season. That means he earned $21,921.22 per game or $100,000 per point. Not exactly money well spent.
- In 2008-09, Josefson played a career high 50 games for Djurgårdens IF of the Swedish Elite League. He played a total of 46 last season, splitting tome between Albany and New Jersey and only 41 this year – Maybe somebody should remind him that we play 82 games in North America.
- Finally, He’s Swedish, just like Ikea and that place has some really sturdy, well built furniture that never breaks or is missing parts out of the box…..Oh, wait.…
