Wide Receiver Randy Moss Can Help The New Orleans Saints
With Drew Brees getting the franchise tag it makes the New Orleans Saints free agency situation quite a puzzle. It is likely that wide receiver Marques Colston will not resign with the Saints and it even might be difficult to resign wide receiver, Robert Meachem. No matter the outcome the Saints are going to need another wide out; that’s where Randy Moss comes in. Moss is arguably one of the greatest wide receivers in the history of the NFL. Moss worked out with the Saints this past Tuesday and the Saints were impressed. Moss reportedly had a great workout with the Saints and it seems like if he returns to the NFL the Saints might pick him up.
Moss is a future hall of famer and could really give the Saints a go to receiver should Colston or Meachem leave. Furthermore, Moss would draw a lot of attention from opposing defenses which should be able to free up tight end, Jimmy Graham, to gain some more yards. Moss has had a long career in the NFL but even in his last season he showed signs that he is still a viable receiver in the NFL. The Saints already have a dynamic offense and the addition of a superstar receiver would make them an even more dangerous team.
If Moss can prove to the Saints that his work ethic is there and the Saints pick him up, it could prove to be a win-win situation. Moss would not have to carry the offensive load for the Saints and at the same time would still be an effective receiver. Furthermore, the Saints are one of the best teams in the NFL and that would give Moss a chance to contend for a Super Bowl Championship. From the Saints’ point of view, they are filling the void left by Marques Colston (as he is likely to leave) while at the same time spreading the field and creating more opportunities for their star tight end, Jimmy Graham. If the Saints can get Moss he would be able to contribute immediately and make their offense even better.
